Domagoj Šimić is a senior researcher at the Agricultural Institute Osijek and an associate professor in non-tenure at the J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek, Croatia. He earned a B.S. degree in agronomy at the J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek in 1989 and a M.S. degree in plant breeding and genetics at the University of Zagreb in 1994. He holds a doctoral degree in plant breeding and population genetics from the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany (1999). Research interests include molecular plant breeding, quantitative genetics and stress physiology, investigation of genotype by environment interactions in crops of Southeast Europe. The last project activities were related to high-throughput phenotyping and genotyping, crop growth modelling and digital agriculture in the context of climate change.
