Dr. Arup Kumar Misra
Dr. Arup Kumar Misra is an accomplished professional in environmental engineering and sustainable development. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Pollution Control Board in Assam, India, and has previously held key positions such as the Director of the Assam Science Technology & Environment Council (ASTEC) and the Assam Energy Development Agency (AEDA). With nearly 25 years of experience teaching chemical engineering at Assam Engineering College, Dr. Misra has a strong academic and professional background. He graduated in Chemical Engineering from Assam Engineering College and completed his post-graduation at IIT Kanpur.
Dr. Misra has made significant international contributions, presenting peer-reviewed technical papers at conferences across the globe, including Edinburgh, Barcelona, Florida, Auckland, Kuala Lumpur, and Bonn. He has authored over 50 papers in journals and proceedings and numerous popular science and technology articles. Notably, he was part of a 12-member Indian delegation from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) to New York and San Francisco in 2017 and represented India at the REEW-19 Congress in Berlin, Germany, in October 2019. His work in environmental science and sustainable development continues to have a positive impact globally.
