Prof. Konstantinos Tsavdaridis

Professor Konstantinos Tsavdaridis is a prominent figure in structural engineering, currently serving as a Professor of Structural Engineering at City, University of London. Leading the KDT research group, his work focuses on the static, quasi-static, and dynamic testing of steel and steel-concrete composite structures, extending to materials like timber, fiber-reinforced concrete, FRP, and TRC. Prof. Tsavdaridis is dedicated to optimizing the design of lightweight structures and has published over 170 papers in various journals, conferences, and engineering magazines. An inventor with several patents, his innovations include perforated steel beams and lightweight composite flooring systems. Notably, in 2019, he received a Senior Fellowship from the Royal Academy of Engineering to develop novel 3D-printed steel connections for modular building systems. His contributions to the field are further recognized through his editorial roles in international journals and his collaborations with global academic and industrial partners, shaping the future of structural engineering.
