Prof. Pinakshwar Mahanta

Prof. Pinakshwar Mahanta is a distinguished researcher and educator in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, where he has been a faculty member since 2001. His research interests include thermal radiation with participating media, fluidization, and energy conservation with a focus on renewable energy. Prof. Mahanta has made significant contributions to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency through his research, which includes publications on topics such as hydrogen sulfide removal from biogas and catalytic upgrading of pyrolytic products. He has also led several notable projects, such as the TOCIC IIT Guwahati under the PRISM scheme of DSIR and the development of biogas-based power generation systems. Prof. Mahanta's work continues to advance sustainable energy solutions and contribute to the field of mechanical engineering.
